Riverside College

Riverside College is a co-educational Day secular institution established under divine vision and a deep sense of responsibility to offer functional and dynamic education within the realities and challenges of this contemporary Nigeria.

The school is situated in an easy-to-access and conducive environment for teaching and learning. We have developed an academic curriculum that fosters the formation of a morally sound child.

Educating the total child is our mission at Riverside. This is achieved by a proficient administrative structure, an avalanche of seasoned educational consultants, and a team of professional teachers trained in the latest educational pedagogy.

Riverside Hostel is a home away from home situated in a safe and secure environment, manned by highly disciplined and God-fearing caregivers. The students’ meals are nutritious and prepared by qualified and experienced caterers who have been screened by our medical consultants.

Why Choose Riverside College

Riverside College recognizes the uniqueness of each child, spotlights and catalyzes it to evolve gradually and steadily.  We do not just admit students, we make the best out of them, with  high priority on academic excellence, creativity, discipline, morals, fear of God, diligence, honesty and integrity.

The students are hubs around which all of our activities revolve. Their future is our main concern; hence the learning environment is so flexible that teachers closely monitor the achievements of the students. We give room for our students to exhibit their talents not only in academics, but also in leadership, music and sports.

Riverside College runs both the British and Nigerian curricula simultaneously. Our teaching team consists of teachers who are qualified to teach both curricula effectively and efficiently. Students are encouraged to partake in the British curriculum as it is student friendly. The text books for this programme are designed such that students can study on their own without the teachers’ assistance. Suffice it to say that the text books are student-oriented.

The subjects for Check-point examination are English language, Mathematics and Science. That of IGCSE is broader, but students are advised to choose subjects relevant to their planned course of study in the university. French and ICT are compulsory.

Examinations at Riverside College are computer based (CBE), it is pertinent therefore, that each student has a mini laptop for this. All our students MUST offer Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as this prepares them for professional courses such as Oracle, Java, etc.
