How to maintain healthy lifestyle for Children.



Health is a state of complete physical,mental and social,well being and not the the absence of disease or infirmity.

Good nutrition and healthy lifestyles are critical contributors to a child’s overall success and readiness to learn.The prerequisite for a healthy child includes proper shelter, regular exercise, enough rest, consuming adequate diet and practice of good hygiene.

Below are important ways of ensuring healthy lifestyle for children.

Regular physical exercise for children.

Children need at least 60 minutes of physical activity each day. Tossing a ball back and forth and dancing are good ways to get children active. Children get more excited when adults join them while having their favourite physical activity.

Drink lots of water.

Water is the most important liquid on earth. It covers 75% of Earth surface in the form of oceans, rivers and lakes. All plants and animals need water to live. Water is the best way to stay hydrated as it does not come with sweeteners found in packed flavoured fruit juices and carbonated drink. Children need to consume water as it helps remove toxins and aids digestion

Eat more fruits and vegetables

Children ought to be encouraged to eat fruits and vegetables because they are high in vitamins, minerals and fibre. Fruits and vegetables promote good health, protect against diseases, ensure a child’s healthy growth and development, strengthen a child’s immune system and help fight illnesses.

  Oral Health

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle in children does not exclude a healthy mouth and teeth. A healthy mouth and teeth are an important part of a child’s wellness. Untreated cavities can cause pain and infections that may result in problems with eating, speaking, playing and learning. Children who have poor oral health often miss school and receive lower grades than children who don’t as this could affect their self-esteem.



Studies indicate that children who have a regular amount of sleep usually have improved attention, behaviour, learning, memory and overall mental and physical health. Children require enough sleep to prevent obesity. Therefore, sleep is an important part of everyone’s routine and an indispensable part of of healthy lifestyle.

In conclusion, health is a state of complete harmony of the body, mind and spirit, which guarantees the children a good physique, intelligent mind and enables them to enjoy life to the fullest.
