Fruits are a good source of vitamins and minerals, and they play significant roles in preventing vitamin C and vitamin A deficiencies. People who eat fruit as part of an overall healthy diet generally have a reduced risk of chronic diseases. Fruits are an important source of many nutrients such as potassium, fiber, vitamin C and folic acid.                  

On March 14^th 2019, our nursery two and grade one pupils were exposed to several activities to emphasise the importance of fruits to children. It was a colourful event and the pupils were excited to see different varieties of colourful local and foreign fruits some of which they had not seen or eaten.

The pupils learnt a lot about the fruits and their benefits. Each class gave beautiful song presentations, coloured fruit themed worksheets and talked about some of the fruits they love. They also sampled the fruits that were on display. Some of which were Kiwi, Plum, Pineapple, African star apple, Paw paw, Watermelon, Golden melon and Oranges. The day ended on a very good note as the children were happy to have learnt more about fruits.
